Hello Comrades.
I seek advice on a pc build intended for eve multiboxing cilents (at the most 6ish)
this would be my first pc build, before its all online ordered or store bought and I am not as computer savvy as most in this game so this is why I come to you for ideas.
I've done a little reading on multiboxing setups that others have had, and this is my idea. please give input if you see a major flaw in the plan:
: Intel-« CoreGäó i7-4790K 4.0 GHz 8MB Intel Smart Cache LGA1150 : ASUS MAXIMUS VII RANGER ATX w / Intel GbLAN, 3 PCIe x16, 3 PCIe x1, 1x M.2, 6x SATA 6Gb/s : G.SKILL 32GB (8GBx4) DDR3/1866MHz Dual Channel Memory : EVGA Superclocked NVIDIA GeForce GT 740 4GB GDDR3 PCIe 3.0 x16 Video Card (Dual Card, Non-SLI) : 240GB Intel 530 Series SATA-III 6.0Gb/s SSD - 540MB/s Read & 490MB/s Write + 2 TB Seagate Mechanical Harddrive for basic data
From my reading its very important to have enough ram and a good motherboard to facilitate the transfer of data between all parts, will this work with the dual video cards?
I am grateful for any input here since most of my pc knowledge comes from reading other people talk on forums
or if you multibox and could share your proven setup I would appreciate too :D |

I was trying to use that pcpartspicker website to find the best deals on price, I would like to keep this under 2000.00 USD |

Before i upgraded, which cost me a whopping $400 maybe 500 or so, my first generation i5 about 6 years old, with 4 gigs of ram, an ATI XT800 card which i thing had 512 DDR2, maybe 1GB DDR2 could play 4 accounts with no issues at all, 5 i started having some choking. But seriously if you drop eve to the lowest setting it uses barley anything.
My current 6 core AMD, with 16gb rand and a radio R9 plays 5 accounts with no problems
Oh wow lol I didnt realize my setup idea was overkill, in the past on lower grade pcs ive bought ive noticed that I can easily box like 2-3 characters when I drop the settings low (doesn't bother me, I don't listen to the sound effects and perfect little explosion animations are not highly valued).
Thank you for your input and sharing your setup! |

With that being said, do you think I could reduce myself down to one graphics card instead of two and still run ok on low? |

EVERYONE!
Thanks for help!
You all helped in opening my eyes to different things :)
I ended up going a bit higher than needed setup, which will also help me in playing other games than eve (THERES OTHER GAMES THAN EVE?)
Cooler Master HAF XB EVO Cube High Air Flow Case Intel Core i7-4790K Processor ZOTAC nvidia geforece gtx 770 4gb ASUS atx ddr3 LGA 1150 maximus VI formula EVGA supernova 1000 wat g1 atx power supply samsung 840 pro series 512 gb ssd (+ exta mechanical hd for basic data) Corsair Vengeance Pro 16gb ddr3 2400mhz pc3 some cooler master case fans + cooler master hyper 212 evo cpu cooler asus 24x dvd drive win7 home premium
i only went with 16gb for the time being since i dont think eve will use more then that (can add more down the road)
hopefully this works out well for me, my first pc buitl

elitatwo wrote:I am sorry to do this but you said 'good components' and you post an Asus board. Use a Gigabyte instead, seriously! The support from Asus is bad. Gigabyte has much better support and I haz connections to Taipeh directly . You also posted some G-somewhat RAMs and I would go Kingston HyperX instead, those even like overclocking with life long warranty! Harddrives I would prefer Seagate but they don't have SSD drives as far as I know. If you want a good SSD, do not use Samsung, use Intel / Kingston and maybe OCZ. Also keep in mind that you will need an appropiate power supply. This I cannot stress enough. It is one of the most important components of your rig. And if you have somewhere at the range of 60$ US, go by and APC surge protector, for lightning protection. You won't be sorry.
is the evga 1000w not a good power supply? I tried to do some readings on reviews and such and it seemed to do well. the reason i went with the samsung is also due to good reviews from multiple websites so i was willing to give it a shot. ill look into those kingston rams, that life long warrenty is good. I know asus does not have best support, but out of all the computer products ive used asus is the one brand that hasnt given me a failure yet so im going to try and stick with it. and I already have that surge apc protector, its a good investment :)) |

Thank you for the nice words, I tried my best to pair everything up accordingly, the rest of my parts arrive tomorrow so should be an experience. |
